My Favorite Star Wars Movies/Shows
Movie #1: Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. This is my favorite Star Wars movie of all time, and my favorite overall movie ever. I grew up with the Prequels, so they hold a special place in my heart. This movie is great to me based on the amazing plot, fighting scenes, and the fact that you get to witness how the prequels tie into the Original Trilogy. This movie is outstanding from beginning to end, with a huge space battle in the beginning, to a galactic civil being fought the duration of the movie, to the ending where the Empire and Darth Vader are born.
Movie #2: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. While this movie is not technically one of the main SW movies (although I consider more of a “movie” than anything else Disney has released), it is an amazing movie on its own. The characters are great, the storyline is amazing as it ties in plotlines from the main movies with its own twist, and has some of the best cinematography you’ll ever witness. While the overall movie is sad, the climax is unmatched and the ending will have you shocked. I highly recommend this movie to all!
Movie #3: Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. You didn’t think I would leave off a movie from the Original Trilogy, did you?! In all seriousness, this movie is great as it was the second installment in Star Wars and it answered to the hype with much better special effects, plotlines, acting, characters, and all of the above. Many consider this the best SW film of all time; I simply cannot agree as I grew up with the Prequels! I still enjoy this and other movies from it’s time.
Show #1: The Mandalorian. This show kicked off the age of live-action shows for the Star Wars universe, and it did not disappoint. This show has brought joy, excitement, laughter, suspense, confusion, and tears (All in only two seasons so far!). The characters in this show are written to perfection and brought to life with amazing actors. The overall plot point of the show is amazing for a show from Star Wars, and it is crazy to see how much the show has progressed since its inception. This show alone led Disney to creating up to ten new shows coming in the next few years. This is a must-watch for all, not just Star Wars fans.
Show #2: The Clone Wars. This show has a soft spot in my heart because it aired when I was a child, was cancelled, and revived with the final season that came out just last year. I love this show because, since its animated, it explores what happened in-between movies #1 and #2. It gave us more of the characters we loved from the movies, while introducing new characters and worlds and also answering questions we had about what happened during this time period. Season seven, the final season, was a perfect ending for the show as it fell in line with the events that occurred during Episode Three. I still go back and rewatch this show from time to time.
