FLORENCE

Florence is an amazing city with so much to do.

Gucci Garden is a great museum to go to if you love fashion exhibits and eccentric art. Each room in the exhibition is a different era of Gucci designs. On the ground floor, you can find a boutique with items that can only be found at the Gucci Garden. As someone who loves fashion this was a must place to stop. And if you take your student ID you can get a discount on admission.

The Accademia Gallery is an amazing historical museum that deeply moved me due to the rich historical artifacts. Michelangelo’s sculpture of David was amazing to see in real life and as a person who is religious made me feel so deeply connected to my faith.

Piazza di Michelangelo is the best spot to see the sunset over the city. It is about a 20-minute walk from downtown and sits on the top of a hill that looks over Florence. We had dinner on the hill so we would already be up there for the sunset and it was absolutely the best decision for the end of our day in Florence. It does get packed for the sunset view so arriving early to the spot you want to be at for sunset is important to having a good view. It was just spectacular and a couple ended up getting engaged right at sunset which made it that more special.

ROME

ROME

When visiting Rome it is best in my opinion to get an Airbnb instead of a hotel room because it gives you more freedom to be closer to certain places, can sleep more people, and is less expensive.

The must-see attractions when visiting Rome are the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and the fashion district.

When touring the Colosseum I recommend getting a private tour guide, mine was an archeologist who helped with the digging of other historical sites in Rome like Palatine Hill and Roman Forum, they have a much more accurate detailing of the history and you have the assurance that they know the information they are telling you.

If you are going to make it to the Trevi Fountain you have to go early in the morning because once it hits 9 am it is packed for the rest of the day and hard to get good pictures. So waking up early is a must to see that beautiful site.

The fashion district is best to travel to once it’s later in the day so there are fewer tourists and due to there being a lot of walking the sun is not beating down on you. And if you are lucky, you might get to see part of a designer fashion show! (I did it was surreal!)

My favorite part of our time in Rome was our last night there when we had dinner on a rooftop in the heart of Rome. The views where amazing and watching sunset from that height is unmatched.
