Towson has always been far from home for me, however, I am a recent resident due to my college career. Towson was founded in the 1700s. The town was founded by two brothers, William and Thomas Towson, who settled in the area. Towson was an important stopping point being just outside Baltimore resulting in its development. Towson saw a great boom after the founding of the Maryland State Normal School in 1866, now Towson University.
