Hockey
One of my favorite hobbies is watching and going to ice hockey games. The National Hockey League (NHL) is North America’s professional league and has 32 teams divided into two conferences (Eastern and Western) and further divided into divisions.
I enjoy hockey because each team plays 82 games, and there’s usually at least one game a day broadcast on television. This allows for many chances to see this fast-paced sport leading up to the Stanley Cup Finals. I’ve been to a few games in person including watching the Washington Capitals play as well as practice at their practice facility in Arlington, Virginia.
Hockey is a very physically demanding sport, and disagreements (fights) often occur among the players. These disagreements only add to the excitement on the ice.
I also enjoy watching the American Hockey League (AHL) which is the minor and developmental league of the NHL. Each AHL team is affiliated with an NHL franchise and provides a competitive environment for players working up to the NHL level. In this case, the Hershey Bears are the AHL affiliate of the Capitals. I have been to a few Bears games in person, which are tons of fun. Clicking here will provide you with information about the Hershey Bears.
