Subnautica is visually beautiful. Many of the creatures are made with varying colors and seeing them against the bright turquoise blue of the water makes the game a visually appealing experience.

At night, the environment seems to come to life. The flora and fauna are bioluminescent, glowing various neon colors and lighting the surrounding area. Glowing environments as seen below allow the player to see easier during the night and at darker depths. Additionally, the glow in the shallow reefs on top of the light and whimsical electronic embodies a peaceful feeling to counteract the vast horror elements in the game.
