The Annapolis Rock Trail, located near Boonsboro Maryland features incredible views, intermediate terrain, potential wildlife sightings, and so much more. Being one of the most popular hikes in Maryland, the trail is extremely well maintained and is ideal for all levels of hikers. This is a very popular area for all types of outdoor recreation such as hiking, camping, and backpacking since it is also along a portion of the Appalachian Trail. From the peak, views of the Cumberland Valley and Greenbrier Lake are breathtaking.
What to Know Before you Go: The trail is about 5.3 miles from start to finish and usually takes around 2 hours and 20 minutes to complete. Dogs are welcomed on the trail as long as they are leashed. Aroun 784 feet of elevation is gained along the trek. The parking lot is somewhat small, so it is best to go on an off day or right when the trail opens. Hours are sunrise to sunset. There is no fee to park or utilize the trail!
