Basketball is a sport that may be enjoyable but in very different ways. There are such distinct differences between college basketball, American professional basketball, and European. This however is near the bottom of my list being fourth.
Reasoning:
- Although Basketball is entertaining, it is more of a sport for the playoffs. With the season being long and repetitive viewership of professional basketball has gone down until the playoffs. That is why this year they implemented an In-Season tournament similar to soccer to try to get it back up. Similar to college basketball in not having many viewers until March Madness.
- With the sport getting more teams with the best players and becoming “superteams” it has made the sport difficult to watch unless it is a big game. Some teams will win less than 20% of their games while others will win 80% with little in between.
- Defense in leagues has also decreased leading to more shots, but also more misses. This leads to a back-and-forth game that is even more difficult to watch and has had a massive negative impact on the game.
My Personal Favorite:
- The Milwaukee Bucks, I have been a fan for a long before they were good and there were times when they had a record of 15-67 not 15 years ago. This has led me to become a fan but even with them not being one of the “superteams” resulting in it being difficult to watch most of the games with them being heavy favorites.
