Colorado offers some of the best National Parks and tourist attractions in the United States. Travelers seeking to visit national park locations should be advised that due to the winter weather some parks may have limited access and most trails may be closed.
Colorado Springs Attractions:
Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain
Peaks Peak is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado south of Denver. This famous mountain has an elevation of 14,115 feet making it one of the famous Fourteener Mountains. There are two ways to the top of this mountain, by railway or by car. Weather permitting, guests can travel to the top of this mountain in their car from 7:30am to 6pm in the summer or 9am to 3pm in the winter. Rates to enter the Pikes Peak Highway can be found on the Pikes Peak website. There are multiple reservation time slots to ride the Pikes Peak Cog Rail available on their website and rates to ride the train can be found as well.

Garden of the God’s National Park
Garden of the God’s National Park offers a ton of activities to all types of outdoors people! This National Park has large red sedimentary rock formations which contrast the green grass and trees of the surrounding land in the summer time. The park offers many trails to hike, Segway tours, driving tours, rock climbing and horseback riding. The park is open from 9am – 5pm and the Visitor and Nature Center is open from 9am-5pm

Rocky Mountain Attractions:
Rocky Mountain National Park
Located in Estes Park, Colorado, Rocky Mountain National Park is 415 square miles of landscape that encompasses mountains and alpine lakes. Due to the elevation changes within the park, weather can quickly change so park operations may change. The park offers multiple visitor centers located throughout which can be found with their hours of operation on the park’s website. It’s best to visit Rocky Mountain National Park in the spring and summer due to the weather which closes major roadways in the winter.

Great Sand Dunes National Park
Great Sand Dunes National Park is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. These great dunes offer hiking, backpacking, sand boarding, sand sledding, and splashing in the creek. On the national park website, guests can fine information about the flow of the creek, park fees, and weather conditions that can be expected each month.
