Basketball is a very well known sport. There are many different leagues with slightly different ways of playing. The objective of basketball is to help your team score the basketball into the net. The net is approximately 10 ft high so it is not easy to shoot in. Inside of basketball there are 5 key positions. The positions are center, power forward, small forward, point guard, and shooting guard.
Center- The center is usually tallest guy on the field on offense they got to get rebounds and try to make some shots. On defense the center attempts to block shot
Power Forward- The power forward is similar to the center and gets rebounds and helps defense against some of the taller players on the field. The main difference between the two is the power forward goes for farther shots.
Small Forward- The duty for the small forward is to be around the court and they can shoot small or far shots and defense against short or tall players
Point Guard- The point guard is a special position because it regards to being the teams best dribbler and passer. This position the point guard attempts to defense the other point guard to gain possession of the ball.
Shooting guard- This is basically just the teams best shooter. These guys go for far shots like 3s or 2s.
What you can’t do-
- You cannot foul another player this can be like tripping or wrist slapping when someone is attempting to shoot the ball
- You cannot touch the ball with your legs / feet or fists
- Every player has to play by the same rules or it is against the rules
Fun fact- The basketball hoop can hold over 2 basketballs inside it. This means there is a lot of room for error when shooting or doing layups.
