Guniea Pig

The Guniea PigGeneral Facts

Guniea Pigs (AKA Cavia porcellusare house hold pets that do not appear in the wild. While having one is okay, they are typically social and tend to live longer if they have a companion to spend their days with. They are omnivores and mainly eat leafy greens and other vegetables. They also require a good amount of space either in a cage or open area.

Fun Facts

  • Guniea Pigs sadly may eat their children when they’re born due to stress.
  • Guniea pigs are not from guinea or related to pigs.
  • Another fun fact is that I have spelt the name wrong since I have first had one, It’s spelled guinea not guniea even though it kinda seems right.

Why it’s my favorite

The guniea pig is my favorite because because it was the first pet I had as a kid and I like the noises that it makes when it’s happy. I also loved them because I had to do a lot of research on them before I was able to get one.
