Canal Project

Massacre river is shared by Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Recently, Haitians have decided to start building a canal to directed in Haiti for agricultural use. The Dominican Republic president Luis Abinader opposes the construction as he claims an additional diversion will harm farmers and the environment. In response he decided to close the border between the countries.
