Expenses

Planning a vacation? Here are 7 ways to save for your upcoming one

Although exciting, unfortunately vacations can be expensive and a lot of unwanted costs may sneak up on you. I am here to show you how much you can expect when going on a vacation in Hawaii, so you won’t have to worry about those uncounted for expenses. Outlined below are the expenses you can expect to see when 2 people are vacationing to Hawaii for approximately 7 nights and 8 days.

  • Airfare; the average cost of airfare for a round trip going to Hawaii for one person is about $800, so for 2 people, expect to pay roughly $1600.
  • Resort; the rough estimate cost for a resort one-night stay is $1,000, so expect to pay about $7,000 for 7 nights in Hawaii.
  • Food/Drinks; The average cost for food per day for one person is $70-100. For 2 people vacationing for 8 days, expect to pay around $1,300 for food. (Some exceptions if resort is all-inclusive, may be cheaper, but most adult beverages are not included in those rates, so food may fluctuate depending on person).
  • Activities; Most activities in Hawaii cost roughly $150 per person for one day, so expect to pay about $1,800 for 2 people. (This is including 6 days of activity; not including the 2 travel days).
  • Car; A car rental costs about $48 per day, so renting a car for 8 days will cost roughly, $385. (If you rent a car, some resorts do charge roughly $35 per day for valet parking, so that is another added cost to consider).

The grand estimate you can expect for 2 people vacationing to Hawaii for 8 days and 7 nights is: $10,500-$12,365.
