Notable Player Records

Most rushing yards by a quarterback in a season: Lamar Jackson

In 2019, Lamar Jackson broke Michael Vick’s single-season record with 1206 rushing yards. This was an unbelievable moment in NFL history, as many people never imagined that there would be another quarterback who had the elite rushing ability that Vick had. Jackson’s speed, reflexes, and football IQ made him a dangerous threat to any team’s rushing defense. Along with breaking Vick’s record, his amazing 2019 performance led to his first MVP trophy, after only being in the league for one season.

Longest field goal in NFL history: Justin Tucker

On September 26th, 2021, the Ravens were trailing the Detroit Lions in a game with only three seconds left on the clock. Kicking a 66-yard field is an absurd option to most NFL coaches, but most coaches also do not have the greatest kicker in history on their roster. Justin Tucker is undeniably the most decorated kicker the NFL has ever seen, with 90.2% career accuracy and 379 made field goals. John Harbaugh, the Ravens head coach, put his faith in Tucker and gave him the chance to make the game-winning field goal. Tucker’s kick went right through the goalposts, giving him the NFL record.
