Having a healthy physical lifestyle can help with mental health. Here are some starter tips on how to stay physically healthy:

  • Regular Exercise: Exercising regularly can reduce feelings of depression and stress, and enhance your mood. Even a walk a day can improve your mental health.
  • A Balanced Diet: Creating healthy eating habits not only reduces the risk of chronic diseases, but also increases your gut health and enhances your mood. A balanced diet comes with drinking lot of water as well. Getting a water bottle that measures drinking goals can be very useful.
  • Sleep!: Sleep is the natural state for the body and mind, repairing tissues and boosting your immune system. The lack of sleep can lead to less energy and concentrating problems. Seven to Nine hours of sleep a night is recommended. With finals coming up, sleep is needed. 
  • Stretch regularly: Sitting in a chair working on assignment can make your muscles tight. Taking a couple minutes out of your day to put on a podcast and stretch can reduce stress.
  • Journaling: Keeping a journal not only will hold you accountable, but also will allow you to reflect on the day, appreciating the good moments through a stressful time. Giving yourself daily goals can also improve your health.
