Allergen Truth

  • Golden Doodles inherit their low-shed trait from their poodle genes making most of them considered hypoallergenic
  • Although they are considered hypoallergenic as a breed, there are instances where not every one of them are hypoallergenic
    • If a person’s allergies to dogs are severe enough they will still experience an allergic reaction
    • Certain types of golden doodles also do not inherit the full gene to be considered hypoallergenic, causing them to still give allergy effects to people who are susceptible to them
  • Around 50%-60% of golden doodles are actually hypoallergenic
    • Considering they are a breed that is mostly viewed as hypoallergenic, that is a low percentage of them that are actually hypoallergenic
