Apart from this Buddha, in Phuket, there is a buddha for each day of the week and they all meant different things. Before entering I had to wear a sarong because I did not have the appropriate clothing. If you had clothes that were a little open they offered you a cloth to cover yourself with. This was to keep the place holy and sacred. There are a lot of monkeys in the area and they are allowed to roam freely. I had the opportunity to meet a couple of them, and I will say this, they were definitely not friendly.
