Professional Goals and Steps
Being young I haven’t worked many jobs, and I don’t have much professional work, but I hope to add onto this as time goes on. I’ve done volunteer work since middle school, and I’ve found it more enjoyable than normal minimum wage paying jobs. So far, I’ve worked at two Chick-fil-A’s and Walgreens. Currently I work as an RA at Towson and find the job eventful and entertaining. Walgreens was my closest foot in the door to becoming a pharmacist seeing how it is a pharmacy. I’ve been looking for pharmacy technician jobs, but I haven’t been successful in finding any that fit into my schedule as an RA and a college student, but I will get to that point soon. I’ve also been looking into research opportunities both on and off campus in order to better my resume and I’m hoping by next summer I’ll have been able to find an internship or research relating to my field of study.
Currently I am in the pharmacy club here at Towson and they have done a good job bringing in pharmacy schools to provide insight into the steps needed to take for a successful application into pharmacy school. As of now I have been looking into potential pharmacy schools that I want to attend post grad. I have many friends on the same track as me and people I know in the medical field so I hope they can serve as mutual connections in my career. I hope by this time next year I have more information to add to this and I’m excited to see what the future holds.
