Travel Diaries
One of my main aspirations is to travel. I want to experience everything life has to offer. So far thanks to my parents I’ve been able to briefly tap into this goal of mine.
When I was younger, they’d take us places in the states like California, Florida, Ohio, as well as many other local states. Once my sister graduated high school we went on a trip to Mexico and that’s when I was sure I enjoyed traveling. The culture, the people, and views were all amazing. The people were friendly, and the food was amazing. I felt more relaxed than ever and was sad to come home.
The next year we went on a cruise to the Bahamas which was an experience. I am not a water person, so I was extremely on edge, but I did enjoy this cruise with my family. I did not like having access to have Wi-Fi for extensive amounts of time but when the boat docked on different islands I didn’t even mind. I loved the beach views and again the people were so friendly. There were a lot of activities on the cruise, and I would go again to a different location next time.
This past summer we went to Puerto Rico, and they had the clearest water I’d ever seen. The resort was pretty far from the excursions, but we still had fun. We took hikes through the tropical rainforests, lounged on the resorts, and went to San Juan and local malls to shop and enjoy the food. There were almost always events going on in San Juan and I would like to go again maybe with friends next time to experience the night life because there have been many good things said about it.
Next summer we plan to travel to the Dominican Republic, and I am excited to do so. I love the Caribbean and traveling to the islands. Anyone planning to travel should know it is very important to respect the people that live there because it’s not just a travel destination for everybody. Eventually I do want to travel to some of the major continents but first I’d like to do my research because I’m aware not everyone is welcome to visitors especially of certain demographics. Once I can afford to travel, I would love to do so.
