NEPALI SPICED TEA

Chiya

Masala Chiya (Tea)

Serves: 6 Cups

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Steep tea in boiling water.
  2. Add milk, sugar, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon stick.
  3. Simmer 10 minutes to blend flavors.
  4. Strain and serve hot.

INGREDIENTS:

  1. 3 Tablespoons black tea leaves (or 3 tea bags)
  2. 5 cups boiling water
  3. 1 1⁄4 cups milk, heated
  4. 1⁄3 – 2⁄3 cup sugar
  5. 4 whole cloves
  6. 2 -3 cardamom pods, cracked open (or 1/2 tsp. ground cardamom)
  7. 1 cinnamon stick
