Getting out of your comfort zone

10 Ways to Overcome Fear and Break Out of Your Comfort Zone | SUCCESS

As someone who realized I was not living my life to the fullest and started experiencing life just a few years ago, I want to give back some ideas on how one can exit their comfort zone.

  1. Put yourself in scenarios where there are plenty of people. Whether this entails working a job where a lot of people go, going out during the weekends, going to events such as comedy shows, etc. This automatically increases the chances of interaction with strangers which leads to meeting new people and making connections.
  2. Do things you have never done before. Life can become so redundant after some time. Add some spice to it! When people hear this, they think of crazy things like jumping out of a plane, but that does not always have to be the case. Never tried a Korean spot before? Go to your local Korean restaurant and try it for the first time!
  3. Reward yourself for doing uncomfortable stuff. Being uncomfortable sometimes is helpful when it comes to being a well-rounded and increasingly wise person. For example, I have never been around more than two old people at once (my grandparents). I picked up a job at a retirement facility as activities associate, meaning I had to help the old folks stay entertained throughout the day! As foreign as that was to me, it has helped me understand older people better.

Your comfort zone is toxic!
