“Blended”: A Bembry Take on Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is known by many as a holiday meant for spending time with family and friends, as well as showing gratitude and giving thanks to the many blessings in our lives. However, everyone knows there is an even better, more important, and tastier tradition behind this holiday…the food that is prepared on this day!

For foodies, cooks, and people with sweet-tooth’s alike, Thanksgiving is a day to indulge and immerse yourself around loved ones. Traditionally the foods you eat on Thanksgiving include: turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie, and your favorite cakes. However, my family is “blended” coming from different backgrounds/cultures and have lived in various places. The diversity of our cultures is evident in the foods we eat on Thanksgiving alone.

The recipes found on this page are my personal favorites from several members within my family.

Hope you enjoy!
