Before settling into Clarksburg years ago, my family and I took many walks to Montgomery County’s public library. It was the first library that I visited since I was very young. It has changed so much from the library I used to know, which is good. In all honesty, I used to hate going to this library and only went to see the big fish tank they had at the front entrance. Yet, my grandmother’s constant trips to this library allowed me to fall in love with the variety of books that this library had to offer.

The Montgomery Public Library provides programs and services that are inclusive to every member including those with disabilities. There are accommodation requests, at-home library services for the elderly or frail, and accessible technology inside their building (adjustable text, font, color, chair adjustments, a magnifier, etc.).

They provide events usually geared toward a younger crowd (e.g. storytimes, playdates, etc.). For an older audience, they provide events that can help/educate adults. Events like financial counseling, help sessions to learn new skills, etc.

Montgomery Public Library also allows you to reserve a room, which can be used for many things like studying, reading, etc.

This library is open Mon-Sun usually from 10AM to 8PM.
