Akrotiri
Akrotiri is a small but lovely community constructed around the historic site of Akrotiri, where humanity established one of the Mediterranean’s most important ports 3000 years ago. It has also been linked to the Minoan civilisation and other finds. The crimson beach is a must-see near Akrotiri. The lighthouse is close by and provides stunning views of the entire island.
Pyrgos
Pyrgos. This town has stunning views. It’s managed immaculately, with historic buildings and a castle perched on a hill. The town plaza contains places to eat and drink , while restaurants may be found farther up. One can visit the Profitis Ilias monastery on top of the mountain before leaving the settlement
Beaches
Perivolos/Persissa/Kamari are most easily accessible beaches. Bars and restaurants line long expanses of flat beach. Because Kamari is smaller, it is more crowded; Perivolos/Perissa have more room.
