Freshman year at Towson University was an adjustment, but not an unwelcome one. I really loved the new friends I was making, and I loved seeing the old ones from high school that joined me at Towson. Coming from a small town, there was not a whole lot to do in the area, but being in a city, there are endless things to do and places to see. I love feeling like everything is at my fingertips up here compared to at home. Although I do miss my family, I am lucky to have my car to be able to go home once a month to visit. I aced all my classes freshman year and decided that Speech Pathology was the career for me! Now that I am a sophomore (junior by credit) I am learning to take each day at a time and really appreciate this time in my life. I

currently work as a server at a restaurant in Timonium, MD called “Hightopps Bar and Grill” and have made even more friends in the area. I am doing great in all my classes and have fallen even more in love with my major. My boyfriend and I are doing great, despite our distance, and try to visit each other one or two weekends a month. He is thriving in his major and being pushed to the limits in all his courses. The distance is unfortunate at times, but overall, it is nice because we are both becoming our own individuals and developing our own passions while remaining in a relationship.
