Betrayed by the Trusted ~ Trahi par les fidèles

Prompt:

Tara: “I trusted you..but you lied!

Nikolai: Why did you trust me, when others said don’t? You can’t even keep your own secret,..yet you expect me to keep it? Should I be the one to be blamed? Or the traitor…Herself?

In a realm of shattered trust they stand,
Tara's voice quivers, on barren land.
"I trusted you, but you chose to deceive!
Oh, how your lies my wounded heart bereave."

Nikolai's gaze, cold and questioning, meets
her eyes,
"Why trust me when others warned, their
doubts arise?
You can't keep your own secrets hidden
deep,
Yet demand me to bear them, secrets to
keep."

Should blame fall on me for this bleak strife?
Or perhaps, dear Tara, you're the traitor in
life?
Accusations weave a tapestry of despair,
A poem of betrayal, a woeful affair.

Broken trust, a void that echoes through
their souls,
As darkness descends, consuming all that
consoles.
Deception's venom, a poison that lingers,
Echoes of betrayal, haunting as cold
fingers.

Amidst the desolation, hope fades away,
No redemption in sight, just shades of gray.
For in the depths of anguish, hearts remain
torn,
Honesty and forgiveness, but illusions
forlorn.

These verses paint a portrait of the grim,
Where wounds fester and spirits grow dim.
No healing in sight, no friendship's flame to
restore,
Only the bleakness of trust forevermore.
