Prompt: A older sibling a girl defending her little brother from bullies. Telling them this “As a gentle reminder, I am choosing kindness. This means I’m more than happy to explore other options if I feel the kindness is not working out. You see I am not committed to kindness. There is no ring on my finger in regard to kindness. I will jump the kindness ship with such ease you’ll wonder if I was ever on board the fucking ship”
Author Note: Wanted to write about my sister for once.
In the realm where shadows prey,
A sister stands, fierce in her display,
To protect her brother from the cruel affray,
She wields her words, in a poetic sway.
"As a gentle reminder," She begins to say,
"I am choosing kindness, come what may,
But hear me well, for I'll swiftly convey,
If kindness falters, I'll find another way.
No binding vows hold me to this creed,
No ring on my finger, no binding need,
I'll abandon the ship with incredible speed,
Leaving doubts behind, you'll wonder, indeed.
For in my heart, love's flame shall ignite,
But my gentle resolve will never take flight,
I'll stand as a shield, a beacon of flight,
Defying the darkness, defending what's right.
I'll weave words that pierce, like a warrior's lance,
Confronting the bullies, I'll give them a chance,
But if they persist in their cruel advance,
I'll embrace strength's fury, they won't stand a chance.
For brother dear, I'll fight till the end,
With sisterly love, our spirits shall blend,
Together we rise, our bond will transcend,
defying the tormentors, a message we'll send.
So hear me now, with every word that drips,
From my lips, like honey, or a fiery eclipse,
I am his guardian, with a resolve that equips,
To protect and defend, as our kinship eclipses.
With kindness I stand, my heart shining bright,
But should it falter, I'll take up might,
For in this sibling bond, in love's sacred rite.
So bullies beware, before you sail astray,
I am a force, with words I convey,
I'll shield my brother, come what may,
With kindness or might, I'll lead the way."
