Next to the Gateway of India, in Mumbai, Maharashtra…

• The monument was constructed to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to Bombay (Mumbai)
• The Foundation stone was laid and construction started in 1911
• Geroge Wittet had the final design sanctioned in 1914
• Construction was completed 10 years later in 1924

 

Next to the Mysore Palace in Mysuru, Karnataka…

• Srikantadatta  Wadiyar died in 2013 and had no successor
• Rajmata adopted a Yaduveer and made him the successor to the heir of the Wadiyars
