Emotional health and mental health hand in hand. Emotional health is the ability to recognize and control emotions. If an individual fails to do so, it can affect those around them. It is important to be aware of your feelings in order to be able to manage them appropriately. One way to be aware of your own feelings is to track them or journal them. It allows one to acknowledge their feelings. Once one is able to acknowledge their feelings it will facilitate the coping mechanisms that will not exacerbate mental health.
