Player Breakdown
For each NBA team, the main players who are key rotational pieces are the starting 5 and the 6th man. These are the Timberwolves players we will be focusing on purely here:
Anthony Edwards is the Timberwolves current starting shooting guard. He played college basketball for the University of Georgia and was selected with the first overall pick by the Timberwolves in the 2020 NBA draft. He is our current star player who is averaging a near 30 points per game.
Mike Conley is our current starting point guard. He was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies and is known as a legend there. He came to the Timberwolves in a trade in the 2022-23 season, and has been a game changer for getting the ball into our star players hands at all times.
Jaden McDaniels is a young forward who was selected in the same draft class as Anthony Edwards. He strives on playing defense and making key switches onto the other teams best player. He has found a unity with Edwards, and continues to strive off of pressure.
Karl Anthony Towns is our Power Forward/Center. He was selected in 2017 and has gone through many struggles with his life and the organization throughout the years. Though one thing has remained the same with his gritty defense and elite shooting for a big man.
Rudy Gobert is the center for this young Timberwolves team. He is the second oldest player on our roster, yet he is as elite as ever. He is known for his defensive presence and continues to be an asset not only to our young players in learning the way of the league, but as a solo performer as well, with FOUR defensive player of the year awards under his belt.
Finally, we have our sixth man of the year Naz Reid. He has gained a cult following on social media for his quiet demeanor and reserved playstyle. But, what the highlights don’t show is his intense love for the game. He is one of the elite big men in the league right now, and as a bench player is utilized as the spark plug for this offense.
