During the 1800’s most musicians were known as composers, they would have symphonies.  Some of the most well known composers were Ludwig van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Franz Schubert.  With Beethoven being the most well known, and his most famous piece Symphony number 9.

Symphony’s were composed of typically string instruments with a few brass and few woodwind instruments. There could be up to 100 people preforming the music and have only a few vocalists some didn’t use any.

During this time people would also make music in times of war to send a message to the people and to give people hope in the time of despair. Some musicians would sing about how the war needs to end and try to make an impact.
