Overview of 3D Imaging

3D imaging is a passion of mine.  I learned the skill from working as a 3D/cardiac CT technologist at a large academic institution for 6 years.

The 3D images I have included in sub menus were acquired from thin slice axial CT scans. Any CT scanner can acquire what is needed to create these cinematic and 3-Dimensional images, but it’s the post processing software that turns it into art!

Post processing software can be loaded onto any computer and create many useful 3D images to help a radiologist better interpret a patients CT scan.  The images not only look neat, but can be useful in many ways!  Surgeons can use them to pre-operatively plan out a difficult surgery and Radiologists can better visualize pathology, fractures, and blood vessels.

These 3D models can even be 3D printed!

I have include a menu linked to CTisus which is a great resource for top notch 3D imaging and wild pathology from CT scans.
