Recovery

Pushing your body to its physical limits day in and day out, creates a lot of soreness and can lead to injury if one is not careful. Stretching before and after exercise is the best way to prevent injury. Some of my favorite stretches are:

  • toe touch with an overhead reach sitting down
  • down dog with calf stretch into cobra & then pigeon
  • cat camel
  • shoulder stretch (straight arm across chest and bend arm overhead)
  • World’s Greatest Stretch

To limit soreness and work out lactic acid build up some great forms of recovery are:

  • foam rolling
  • Normatec compression
  • using a tennis ball to roll out shoulders and feet
  • Theragun
  • Massage
  • Cupping
  • Ice bath/ Hot tub
