FINAL FANTASY VI

Final Fantasy VI was the final game to be released on the SNES, capping off the 2D era of Final Fantasy with a story pushing the scale possible on the SNES to its limits, and creating one of the most beloved entries in the franchise. The game was released in the west as Final Fantasy III once again in hopes that western fans would not realize that they had essentially missed out on half of the series at this point. The story takes place in a world where magic is a lost art and machines have begun to take its place, where you play as a cast of characters trying to stop an evil Empire from harnessing the lost art of magic to rule and corrupt the world.

The GBA Version

The GBA version of FFVI features new bonus dungeons and bosses, as well as the ability to have alternative ways to obtain high-tier gear. Other than that, the GBA version features a small amount of bug fixes and Quality of Life improvements over the original, however the main selling point is that new content.

The Pixel Remaster

The Pixel Remaster does away with the bonus dungeons and bosses from the GBA version in order to stay more in line with the pacing and intent of the original release. However, many of the balancing changes and Quality of Life improvements from the GBA are retained, generally making this version a more polished and streamlined experience than the original.
