Towson’s Biology program is rated within the top 15% in the country. With four different concentrations within the major, students with different interests can choose the path that best suits them.
Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Concentration
- This is the concentration that I selected – it is best suited for students interested in botany, zoology, and conservation biology.
Cell and Molecular Biology Concentration
- This concentration prepares students for a career in cell/molecular biology, genetics, etc., and is often selected by students who intend to pursue a graduate degree after graduation.
Functional Biology of Animals Concentration
- This concentration is often selected by students who want to pursue a veterinary career, and sometimes by students who whish to pursue a career in the medical field.
Biology Secondary Education Concentration
- This path prepares students to teach biology in grades 7-12.
