The London Eye

The London Eye or formerly known as the Millenium Wheel is a 443-foot-tall cantilevered observation wheel located on the South Bank of the River Thames in London. The Eye was built in 1999 but didn’t open publicly until 2000 due to capsule issues. It was originally planned to be a temporary structure but because of its popularity is now a staple of the city. Averaging over three million visitors annually the London Eye is the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom.
