Football or soccer as we call it in America is the most popular sport in England. Football is a huge passion in their culture and fans can be seen supporting their national team throughout the country. England’s national team plays in Wembley Stadium which is a historic landmark for the game of football as a whole. The national team played in the world’s first international soccer match and has since gone on to win eight world cup titles.

England is also home to twenty professional club teams which make up “The Premier League”. The Premier League was founded in 1992 and is considered the most prestigious league in Europe. Each team within the league represents a different area in England. Fans from each city show support for their native team and have great rivalries with neighboring cities.
