While you’re in the deserts of Arizona, look out for some delicious prickly pear foods! A prickly pear is a sweet cactus that can be eaten by itself or made into yummy food. Some things that are made from prickly pear include, jellies, syrups, and even chicken.
Made from flour, salt, baking powder, and warm water, Indian fry bread is a staple in Arizona. It can be eaten plain or layered with sweet or spicy toppings. Fry bread is bubbly and chewy– sort of like pizza dough! If you get a chance, look for some native fry bread and try it for yourself!
