Campus Activities

Towson has a ton of activities and events for students to get involved in. Whether you’re into sports, arts, or community service, there’s something for everyone here. I would recommend getting active on campus. It really makes your college experience memorable and its a great way to meet people.

Sports and Recreation

Tiger Athletics

Whether you’re a football, lacrosse, or track and field fan, we’ve got you covered! Our games are always packed with Tiger fans cheering on their favorite teams. Plus, we have a ton of awesome venues for each sport, like Johnny Unitas Stadium, Tiger Field, and SECU Arena.

Campus Recreation

Our Campus Recreational Center has so many hidden gems I think everyone should take advantage of.

  • Two floors of cardio and weight training equipment
  • A lap swimming pool
  • Plenty of basketball hoops for pick-up games and organized leagues (Intramural sports)
  • Rubber floored courts for futsol, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, floor hockey and dodgeball
  • Fitness studios to take classes like cycling, Zumba, yoga, HIIT, boxing and total body strength
  • An American Ninja Warrior style course to play on
  • An open training area with turf, sleds, boxes, stadium stairs, a sprint hill and tons of other fun equipment
  • A huge rock climbing wall with beginner to advanced routes to climb—all climbing equipment is free to use
  • An equipment checkout room with everything you need to play: basketballs, locker locks, shower towels, boxing gloves, badminton racquets, etc.
  • Off-campus trips such as rock climbing, kayaking and hiking
  • Two types of sports leagues—intramural and sport clubs
  • Group fitness and yoga classes, free and offered daily

Campus Activities Board (CAB)

A student-led organization that plans and organizes a wide range of events and activities for the student body. Its mission is to create a vibrant campus community by providing opportunities for students to engage in social experiences. CAB is also in charge of planning tigerfest.

This year I worked for the Campus Activities Board, and I would recommend going to our events. We put on several events every week focused solely on providing free and fun opportunities for Towson students. We are constantly giving out free food and items, ranging from small items to big prizes like PS5’s and iPads.

Student Government Association (SGA)

A student-led organization that serves as the official voice of the student body. Its main goal is to represent the needs and concerns of students to the university administration and advocate for student rights and interests. The SGA also plans and organizes events and programs on campus
