History:

The history of Acadia National Park dates back more than 10,000 years. The park became the first national park east of the Mississippi River and the only is the Northeastern United States. Native Americans inhabited the area of Acadia for over 12,000 years and would utilize the resources to hunt, fish, gather, and harvest.

Fun Facts:

The park contains the tallest mountain on the Atlantic Coast of the United States, called Cadillac Mountain.

The park also contains lakes, streams, wetlands, forests, meadows, and coastlines

Visitors can participate in hiking, bicycling, fishing, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and more.
