The Guide to Getting the Best Cheesesteak
You might think why? What makes them all different? Why is it such a big deal? I am sure you have heard of the cheesesteak wars. Yes, it is a thing.
Truth is, every place is different and delivers something different.
Here is how you choose and order which cheesesteak place may be the best experience for you.
- Type of steak preference. Some places chop their meat or offer un-chopped steak meat. For chopped steak meat, look to Dalessandro’s, Chubby’s, or Jim’s. For un-chopped steak, look to Pat’s, Geno’s, or Steves’s.
- The roll: choosing which restaurant has your preference roll is purely based on experience. For some support, from my experience, Dalessandro’s never fails to deliver in the freshness category. This is may be a personal preference, but it is still known for hitting the ball on having the perfect bread.
- The delivery/making. Do you wanna see your cheesesteak made in front of you? Hit up Steve’s Prince of Steaks to watch the non-stop, perfect process happen right in front of you. The only thing separating you from your cheese steak on the grill is the thin glass to ensure your steak is made just perfectly.
- What makes a cheesesteak a cheesesteak. Wit or Witout Wiz? This is an essential part to ordering the most perfect cheesesteak. The wit or witout is explained in terms of cheese and onions. For example, say I want a cheesesteak to have onions. I could say I want ‘a cheesesteak wit.’ Some places ask you to specify what type of cheese to include on your steak. In this case you could specify with cheese and onions by saying, “American wit or Whiz wit.” If onions are not up you’re ally, feel free to say “American witout” or “Whiz witout.”
While roll preference makes my choice of place pretty easy, these easy to get to cheesesteak places are a must-try in the Philadelphia area and simply impact the culture of the city.
