Recipe- Blackened Shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano (dried)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 ½ pounds shrimp (uncooked, peeled)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)

Optional Ingredients:

  • cilantro (fresh, chopped)
  • lime wedges

 

Cooking Directions:

  1. Combine the chili powder, paprika, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, brown sugar, salt, and pepper into a bowl.
  2. Dump the mixture over the shrimp and mix well.
  3. Set aside to marinate for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Flip and let cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Add the minced garlic, stir and cook for 30 additional seconds.
  8. Garnish with cilantro and lime wedges (optional).
  9. Serve.
