The New York Islanders, formerly known as the Long Island Islanders, is a professional ice hockey team in the NHL. The Islanders, also known as the Isles, were founded in 1972 and were based out of Uniondale, New York. Members of the Metropolitan Divisions in the Eastern Conference played their home guys Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Isles had a rough start entering the league but would then go on to win the Staley Cup four years in a row (1980 – 1983). In 2021 they moved and currently play home games at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New york.
