If you’re interested in hot yoga, consider trying attending a regular yoga class first, and ask your studio if they offer hot classes suited for beginners.
Some classes use the residual heat from the previous class, so it’s not as hot as a regular heated yoga class but is usually between 80 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit (26 to 29 degrees Celsius).
Some instructors suggest taking a beginners’ yoga class before progressing to hot yoga, so this is one option if you are unsure of how you might cope with the conditions.
Two key points to focus on prior to your first hot yoga session would be to stay hydrated and take your time getting into the workout. Drinking water before and after your hot yoga session is ideal, as you will be sweating a lot and dehydration is very possible if not consuming enough water. Secondly, the last thing you want to do is get injured, so take your time, do not over stretch and know your limits. One this is for sure though, at least in my experience, you will feel absolutely amazing after your session. The head clarity, the endorphins, your ligament/joints being freshly stretched out, it all just combines in the best way to have you feeling Zen and accomplished.
