The History of Shiba Inus

The history of Shiba Inus dates back thousands of years to its origin in Japan. Shiba Inus were originally bred for hunting in areas of rugged terrain, they displayed great ability to navigate through difficult landscapes. Their name, “Shiba” translates to “brushwood” in Japanese, in reflection of their expertise in navigating through tough areas during hunting. Based on this breed’s strong resilience, they have also faced challenges in the near extinction of their breed during World War II. With the strong efforts to preserve the breed, Shiba Inus now stands as a testament to Japan’s rich cultural heritage. Shiba Inu continues to capture many dog owners’ and enthusiasts’ hearts with their history and unique personalities.
