
Summary and Impact:
Marty McFly, a 17-year-old, is friends with Emmett Brown, commonly referred to as Doc, who is in his 60’s. One night, Doc shows Marty his modified car that can time travel and is powered by plutonium. This plutonium is stolen from Libyan terrorists. These terrorists appear shooting and shoot Doc. Marty takes the car in an effort to escape and activates the car’s time travel feature, sending him back in time. Marty was sent back to when his parents were in high school. Marty disrupts the past and interferes with his parent’s meeting, and the mother starts to fancy Marty instead of his father. Marty tries to fix the rightful course of the past to save the life he knows. Meanwhile, Marty has to deal with a school bully, Biff, and try to befriend Doc’s younger self so he can power the car to return to his present time. Marty figures out the car has to be struck by lightning for him to be sent back in time. Marty fights the clock in order to save his parent’s relationship and make it back in time to be sent to the past. This movie showed me the value of your actions and how they may impact the future. It also taught me to make my actions have meaning because they have the power to change and determine my future. The dangers of technology are also expressed.
