Maryland Crabbing Hotspots

When it comes to crabbing in Maryland, the blue crab population flows endlessly up and down the Chesapeake Bay and its connected rivers. Depending on where you are in Maryland will lead you to various crabbing spots. Based on my experience and experience of other certified crabbers, places to crab that are commutable from Towson are the Wye River in Queen Anne’s County, the Bush River in Harford County, and the Choptank River in Dorchester County. Crabbing out in the open Chesapeake bay is also a viable option, but often times the rivers connected to the bay are crabbing gold mines.
