Golden Rock ( Kyaiktiyo Zedi)

A fantastic exhibit of nature and balance. The Golden Rock sits atop a huge boulder that appears as if it’s about to fall off the edge of a cliff. Covered in gold leaf with a golden padoga top of the boulder, locals believe that the Golden Rock is held in place through a miracle of Buddha. The Padoga is said that contain of strand of the Buddha’s hair. Visiting the relic is a pilgrimage for Myanmar Buddhists and the Golden Rock is about a five-hour drive from Yangon, the country’s biggest city.
