Travel and Transportation

Getting to the City: I highly recommend taking the New Jersey Transit Train to NYC. The NJ Transit runs from it’s first station in Trenton to Penn Station, NYC It is an extreme hassle trying to drive to and from the city with loads of traffic and toles that will likely empty your wallets on the drive down alone. I personally like to drive to Trenton, because it’s the closest, park my car at the parking garage across the street, parking costs between $10-$25 depending on your length of stay. After walking in the station you can use the self-service kiosk to the left, or the help information desk person to the right to purchase your tickets. Round tickets cost about $35. Make sure to check the NJ Transit website for departure and arrival times so you can arrive at the train station accordingly!

While in the City: I personally LOVE to rent/ride the citi bank bikes. There are a ton of bike ports throughout most of the parts of the city. All you need to do is download the Citi Bike app, enter your card, scan the bike you want to ride, and ride on! I highly recommend the e-bikes because it makes pedaling a whole lot easier (just look stations with the lighting bolt on it to see which stations have e-bikes available). I am still getting used to the subway but Apple Maps is extremely helpful when navigating the subway. It allows you to see what color tracks you need to get on and where the nearest stations are!
