When you think of the best major, what do you think of? If you said Forensic Chemistry then, you were right!  Forensic Chemistry is my major, I hope to work in a government lab. Forensic Chemistry is a major that takes time and effort once you are in it. The use of scientific procedures in criminal proceedings is known as forensic chemistry. Specialists in this field have a wide array of methods and instruments to help identify unknown substances. These include the use of high-performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, atomic absorption spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and thin layer chromatography. Here I’ve embedded a link that can take you to some more specific definition. These techniques can be used for a variety of things not just criminal proceedings. It can also be used for research. Research is a really big part in this major. This is what allows us to find new ways to track criminal movements.  In this day and age, Forensic Chemistry is way better than what it was before. We have so much more technology than before. It makes all of our processes much faster. When it comes to Forensic Chemistry, we want efficient work, but effective work. If we have evidence from a case, we need to investigate it thoroughly, but also in a timely manner. This is why different government organization go to each other for help when someone else’s technology is better.
