Culture

Peru is very rich in culture. In the 13th century, it was the heart of the Inca Empire, they are known for their contributions to religion, architecture, and their famous network of roads throughout the region. Before the Incas, many cultures left a great deal of history. Some of them are Mochica, Nazca, Chavin, Paracas, and Caral.

Nowadays we still celebrate these past cultures by continuing their dances, and tales, and keeping the history alive with museums. One of my favorite dances is the Marinera Norteña, it is a stylized reenactment of a courtship, where the guy can be dancing on a horse and the girl is barefoot and they both have white handkerchiefs as props.
